Situation:
Dow Corning employs over 10,000 employees worldwide, and over
5,000 in the United States. With such a geographically dispersed
population, Dow Corning needed a means to consolidate its
human resource communications and integrate it with their
central ERP system while strictly adhering to stringent security
requirements.
Solution:
Our team worked with Dow Corning to build a comprehensive,
personalized online benefits summary. The site was designed
to combine of all of their outsourced benefits data, integrate
it with their central ERP system (SAP) and tightly align it
with Dow’s rigorous IT security needs. The online summary
coordinates ongoing updates from four data sources: defined
contribution, defined benefit, health and welfare and payroll,
and delivers the data online to employees worldwide. The site
has become the model among HR self-service applications—saving
Dow Corning over $120,000 annually in printing and distribution
costs.
